IronStride led this project that aimed to standardize the static signage and technology across chain stations located on I-70 and I-25 to create consistency for travelers and help to streamline operations and maintenance efforts. This included plans to integrate all existing and new technologies with CDOT’s active traffic management system (OpenTMS) for remote monitoring and control, which is essential for mitigating safety and maintenance concerns. Our team oversaw a data collection effort to document all existing technologies, utilities, and signage at the chain stations. We also led extensive coordination with a variety of CDOT stakeholders, often balancing competing priorities and having to guide conversations toward what is achievable now rather than long term ideals. Our final deliverable was a plans, specifications, and estimate package to advertise the technology upgrades for construction.
