Streetlight Audit

IronStride supported the Town of Erie with an effort to collect GIS data for all Town-owned streetlights (~1,300 assets), which the Town recently acquired from Xcel Energy. With a past dataset as a starting point, our team utilized a Trimble unit to fill in missing streetlight datapoints with key information, including latitude, longitude, fixture type, lamp type, pole material type, and whether a transformer was present on the pole. IronStride also performed inspections for each streetlight asset, highlighting any needed repair or maintenance. Following the Town’s asset management schema, we tagged each streetlight with a four-digit asset number using outdoor-rated adhesive numbers. After all data collection and inspection was completed, IronStride reviewed the Xcel utility bills to reconcile the number and type of streetlights in the field with what the Town was being billed for, resulting in a cost savings for the Town.
